Recovery of rare earth elements from phosphogypsum waste in resin-in-leach process by eluting with biodegradable complexing agents

چکیده
Phosphogypsum waste is a potential, secondary rare earth element (REE) source that available in very large volumes. Extraction and purification of REE from this complex was studied using resin-in-leach (RIL) followed by batch elution. Multiple consecutive RIL cycles with Purolite S940 resin dilute H2SO4 solution were performed for an industrial phosphogypsum waste. loading (max. 0.92 equiv./kg) purity over calcium (70%) increased up to seven cycles. the impurities separated treating loaded packed bed column two-step elution procedure. Calcium efficiently removed 0.06 M HCl. Alkaline solutions biodegradable chelating agents N,N–dicarboxymethyl glutamic acid (GLDA), methylglycinediacetic (MGDA), oxalic acid, citric iminodiacetate second step. MGDA GLDA both suitable candidates effective resin. A free, high fraction (up 99.01%) obtained MGDA. The most likely REE:MGDA stoichiometry found be 1:1 method continuous variation.

Use of Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria to Leach Rare Earth Elements from Monazite-Bearing Ore
In the present study, the feasibility to use phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) to develop a biological leaching process of rare earth elements (REE) from monazite-bearing ore was determined. To predict the REE leaching capacity of bacteria, the phosphate solubilizing abilities of 10 species of PSB were determined by halo zone formation on Reyes minimal agar media supplemented with bromo cre...

This study aims to investigate and optimize the effects of the main parameters including the particle size, gravity and magnetic separation combination, high gradient magnetic separation, magnetic field intensity, shaking table slope, washing water flow, and electrostatic separation upon the rare earth element (REE) recoveries from iron mine waste. The electron microprobe showed that high amoun...
متن کاملTHESIS FOR THE DEGREE OF DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY Hydrometallurgical Recovery of Rare Earth Elements from Fluorescent Lamp Waste Fractions
Recovery and reuse of materials is important for a circular economy. In recent years the recovery of critical metals from end-of-life products has received increased attention. Various streams, e.g. permanent magnets, nickel metal hydride batteries and fluorescent lamps are considered targets for the recovery of rare earth elements (REEs). The last can be a source of up to six different REEs: e...
متن کاملRecovery and Separation of Rare Earth Elements Using Salmon Milt
Recycling rare earth elements (REEs) used in advanced materials such as Nd magnets is important for the efficient use of REE resources when the supply of several REEs is limited. In this work, the feasibility of using salmon milt for REE recovery and separation was examined, along with the identification of the binding site of REEs in salmon milt. Results showed that (i) salmon milt has a suffi...
